Ultra Thin.

At only 26.8mm, these are the thinnest mountain bike clip pedals in the world. And they have an extra large, DH-sized platform. The ultra thin profile means you get a larger platform that’s less prone to pedal strikes.

Large and Light.

Many other clip pedal platforms don’t even touch your shoe when clipped in. Our lightweight, large platform pedal is designed to actively support your shoe and give you more confidence and control.

Custom Stainless Steel Binding.

Our SPD™ compatible mechanism gives you 5° of float and a 12° release angle with no unwanted play. The tighter cleat fit doesn’t sacrifice float and delivers a locked-in and secure feeling.

Adjustable Cleat Fit.

Fine tune the feel of your pedals with a wider range of spring tension adjustment than Shimano, removable pins and the included cleat spacers for the perfect fit with any shoe.

FAQ

Do I need to install the updated binding plate myself?

Nope! Every pair of pedals has the updated binding plate installed from the get-go, so you're ready to roll, hassle-free.

How is the OneUp binding system different from Shimano SPD™?

Our design focuses on two key improvements: eliminating unnecessary play in the cleat-to-binding connection and increasing the maximum release tension. To achieve this, we completely redesigned the binding and refined the cleat-to-binding connection, creating a tighter, more secure fit without sacrificing float. This provides a locked-in, confident feel while you ride. For greater adjustability and control, we engineered springs with a higher maximum tension and a wider range of usable adjustments, allowing you to fine-tune your setup to match your preferences.

When should I use a cleat spacer? How can I make it easier to clip-in?

If you’re having trouble clipping into the pedal or the binding feels overly tight, even at low tension, there are two adjustments you can make.

First, installing a the provided cleat spacer(s) allows your cleat to make connection with the binding sooner, reducing the interference between the pedal and shoe and making it easier to clip-in.

Second, you can remove the pedal pins to eliminate any additional interference. We recommend starting by adjusting the front pins and then the rear pins, if necessary.

Can I use another brand's SPD™ cleat?

We recommend using our cleats with our pedals. However, Shimano SH51 SPD cleats are also compatible. We can't confirm compatibility with, or recommend, any other SPDbased cleats from other brands. Use these at your own risk.

Are there any shoes that aren't compatible?

While we can't guarantee a completely universal fit with the multitude of shoe brands and sizes out there, any shoes with a 2-bolt cleat mounting interface should be compatible. Cleat spacers may be required in some cases.

Are the pins height adjustable? Can I ride the pedals without pins?

Our Clip Pedals can be used with or without the pins, but the pins themselves are not height adjustable. They are designed to bottom out in the pin hole, functioning like a standard screw.

If you’re trying to make clipping in easier, we recommend using a cleat spacer first to reduce interference between your shoe and the pedal. If additional adjustments are needed after installing the spacer, you can remove the pins to further minimize interference. Start by removing the front pins, and then the rear pins if necessary.

Why are the pins hollow? How can I remove a damaged pin?

The hollow design allows dirt to pass through the pin, eliminating the need to pick dirt out before removal. To remove a damaged pin, you can use a 2.5mm Allen key from either the front or back. If removing it from the back, remember to turn clockwise to loosen it. This design ensures easy maintenance and hassle-free removal when damaged.

pretty stinkin good

"I thought it was all hype until I rode them. It is definitely an evolution of the SPD. I was coming off Saints, you don't realize how limited they are until you tried these, no slop no vague float but yet still a feeling of freedom like flats it's hard to describe until you ride them."

Pins don’t touch…pedal feels like any other clip

"Pins do not touch my Shimano AM9s basically making moot the whole reason I bought these (obviously didn’t install shims). I wanted that “flat pedal feel” they claimed in the marketing video. I feel pretty gullible now! Anyways, I wasn’t in the market for a different shoe but perhaps I’ll look to see if there’s one that mounts the clip deeper into the shoe. Will also check to see if there are longer pins but that isn’t ideal."

Wafer-thin clipless goodness

"Love them. Made the mistake of not changing out my Shimano cleats before riding. The One-Up cleats are specific to the pedals. Word to the wise."

Fredric S. (5/5)

Not a good fit for my needs.

"Rode these for 2-3 rides, and will be trying to find someone else for whom they work better. The good: Definitely has some decent traction even if not clipped in, thanks to the pins. Does have a more stable feeling when clipped in than what I'm used to. The bad: Hard to actually clip in. This is with OneUp cleats with cleat spacers and pedal tension minimum. It's also hard to tell when you do get successfully clipped in. The dealbreaker for me is that at least with the spacers installed, I can't wear the same shoes with my other SPD bikes."

Beats the brothers

"Thin profile! Great spd alternative to the other popular pedal on the market."

Sean N. (5/5)

Solid engagement and a platform

"Solid engagement and a platform pedal that actually provides a platform. This pedal definitely added a new level of control and stability to my mountain biking."

Reid P. (5/5)

Excellent pedal

"Very stable, not heavy and very adjustable. Prefer over my XT Trail SPD's. Also dig the Orange anodize ."

decent pedals misleading marketing

"TLDR: Decent pedals, but I’m disappointed with OneUp’s marketing and how they handled my review. In OneUp’s product video (around 0:25), they specifically promote these pedals as having “pins that actually touch your shoes. ” That claim was literally the reason I was interested in them, because it suggests these pedals offer something different from typical clipless pedals. My original review simply stated that with my shoes (Shimano AM9s) the pins do not touch the shoe at all, even with the pins or shims installed. OneUp removed that review, and I later received an email from Tom R. explaining that the pins are primarily intended for those moments when you’re unclipped and riding through a section, and that constant contact would make unclipping more difficult. . . well duh! The issue isn’t that I misunderstood how clipless pedals work. The issue is that OneUp’s marketing specifically highlights these pedals as being different from other clipless pedals because the pins supposedly contact the shoe and provide more of a flat-pedal feel. Anyways, besides that the pedals themselves are decent. Engagement and performance are fine. I want more float and would like to try the new Shimano multi-entry cleats sincs the Oneup cleats are only single entry. At the end of the day my primary criticism is that if you’re going to market the pins as functional and claim they contact the shoe, they should be long enough to actually do so for a wider range of common riding shoes. Riders who want less contact can always shim their cleats to fine-tune the interface."

Good but tight cleat

"Pedal seems like its high quality and I like that its super thin/low profile. However, the cleat sits closer to the base of the pedal than shimano or other similar SPD style pedals. It does come with shims for your shoes, but if you have two bikes with different pedals, they will be too loose. Being so close, I have them set to the weakest release and its still pretty tight. Thats why I would only give them a 4 star rating."

David M. (4/5)

Love em’

"Love the durability/adjustability/tune ability these pedals have without too much float."

Q&A

Hi i just purchased a set of these and all was great until i couldn't clip out on the right side heal outward. I was able to exit on the right if I rotated heal inward( to the left) with a lot of force. The right pedal is @the lowest tension setting. My shoes are Fox union boa. What pedal #'s needed the new binding parts updated?
Hey Celina, thanks for reaching out. Could you send me a photo of your pedals? I can confirm if they have the updated clips. If you feel they are excessively difficult to unclip from, here are a few steps to try - Please follow them in order, trying the next one only if the previous doesn't fix the issue: If this issue has worsened over time, check for any evidence of impacts or interference from dirt or grit. Using a wire brush, clean beneath parts 6 & 7 from this page, and also your cleats, to be sure there is no metal swarf build up. Check that the cleat washer is the right way around so the bolts are flush & tight (see step 4 of the Cleat Install Instructions). Check that the spring tension is backed off to the second last click (be careful not to fully unscrew the tension screw) Add a drop of chain lube to the spring. Check if a cleat spacer is needed and if any parts of the shoe are interfering with the clipping process. Move the cleat 5mm towards the front of the shoe. Check the binding support plate (part 8 in the exploded view) is flat and tight to the pedal body. This is a T10 Torx key, torqued to 1.5-1.8Nm If you continue to have trouble releasing, try removing the front pins (on both sides of the pedal) The last thing to do is try a different shoe. Try without the cleat spacer first and add one if necessary for clearance. If the issue goes away with the shoe then it could be an incompatible shoe -  If so, we would like to know the shoe make and model. Hi, I am woundering if the pedal works with the shimano multi realse cleats SM-SH56? Cheers Ethan
These cleats will work with our Pedals. Thanks for checking in, Ethan!
Hi there. A few months ago I purchased the one up clip pedals. However, one side of the pedal seem to have an issue. I find it very difficult to unclip on this one side. Even after loosening the tension. Is there other ways where I can adjust to fix this situation? Please advise. Regards from Malaysia, Izad

I want to buy your clip pedal locally in my local bike shop. Is there any way I can check if the pedals they have in stock are the updated ones?
Hey Alex, I am almost certain they will have the updated bindings. This video shows what our old binding plates look like - https://www.oneupcomponents.com/blogs/clip-pedals-service-install/rear-binding-plate-replacement-instructions
Hey One up team. Is it possible to remove the clip mechanism on one side and use the pedal on one side as a platform pedal with normal shoes? I would like to use the pedal on a gravel bike where I also occasionally want commuting with normal shoes. Thanks for your help greetings from Switzerland. Best regards, Ralf
Hey Ralf, it is possible, but I wouldn't recommend it. Something like an SPD pedal platform adapter could be good - https://www.amazon.ca/Aluminum-Universal-Clipless-Platform-Adapters/dp/B07YTJ2K8T/
