Q & A
Favourite place to ride?
All of Scotland's hidden gems. Recently Aboyn.
How did you get into riding?
The lure of how fun 2 wheels was got me more and more into bikes. I progressed up the quality of bikes as I got keener and keener and in my youth I started racing DH at 14.
Favourite trail of all time?
Bariloche in Chile. The deepest and softest loam I have ever seen.
Favourite rider to watch?
Sam Hill, so relaxed on the bike.
Favourite food / colour / movie?
Oats and milk (uncooked porridge) / Coral / Starsky and Hutch
What are you into outside of bikes?
Shed time and building stuff. I love knocking up a set of shelves.
Scariest riding moment of all time?
The first stage of any enduro. Then the last stage if things are going well.
Favourite OneUp product and why?
The Dropper post and also EDC tool are supreme but it's the threaded top cap I love. Light, easy to use and holds the EDC tool perfectly.
If you're put on the spot and have to tell a story, what is the story you tell?
I once had a dream. When I was about 6 and then I couldn't decide if I had been to a theme park or not and I had to think for ages if it was my dream or not. So since that day I have never had a dream as I decided it was too risky not knowing what was real or not.
Favourite trick, to do or to see done?
When someone steals my nose. Then puts it back on.
Who would you be if you could be any non-mountain bike athlete?
Ange Capuzzo, Italy full back in Rugby. Very exciting on the ball.
Air or coil shock?
Coil works best on my bike, so at the moment it has to be coil.
